The International Watercross Association (IWA) is bringing snowmobile watercross racing to BIR again this summer for two Wet & Wild Weekends: May 31-June 2 and Sept. 20-22.

The IWA is teaming up with the Bracket Drag Racing Series on the quarter-mile track, Central Roadracing Association on the road course for thrilling Superbike racing, and Mud Rhythm to bring the Mud Trucks back to BIR  for the September weekend. Watercross racing is Saturday and Sunday only, but all three types of racing will take place simultaneously, making for a gigantic weekend of motorsports for fans. A single ticket gets you in to see all three events. Mud Rhythm will be running Friday, Saturday and Sunday in September.

IWA Watercross is crazy fun racing that you can’t miss. Lake BIR, the pond in the middle of BIR’s PleasureLand RV VIP Campground, is transformed into a race track for snowmobiles as they race on open water. There will be drag racing (from one shore across the lake to the other) and oval racing, where racers make four or five laps around floating bouys. Eight classes will race: Pro Open, Pro Stock, Semi Pro Open, Semi Pro Stock, Women’s Ovals, Mod Drags, 800 Drags and 600 Drags.

The Bracket Drag Racing Series is on the drag strip for the third of 5 racing weekends. More than 250 dragsters, cars, trucks, bikes and Junior Dragsters are expected for two full days of eliminations and winners, after Friday’s Test & Tune Day. Racers are gunning for series points that lead to a series championship at the end of the season.

This June, North Star BMW will be featured on the road course. Come September the CRA will feature three days of high-flying Superbike racing, where riders take on the 2.5-mile road course on two wheels and a knee. It’s great spectator racing!
