NAPA Street Legal Drags

Wednesday May 8th will be the first of 8 scheduled Napa Wednesday Night Street Legal Drags of the 2024 Season.

 

The Wednesday Night Drags - Street Legal Style program is a chance for anyone with a street legal car, truck or motorcycle to race on BIR's world-class drag strip. Full use of the Christmas tree, burn-out box and the scoreboard.  We even have an announcer calling all the action.

 

This will also be your first of 4 opportunities to take part in our Intro to Drag Racing Class presented by B.I.G. Performance Solutions. The objective of this class is to bring new enthusiasts into the sport of drag racing by removing the nervousness of learning as you go or self-teaching like many have done in the past.

INTRO TO DRAG RACING DATES:

- MAY 8th

- MAY 22nd

- JULY 3rd

- AUGUST 28th

 

This class will introduce the following: 

- Drag Strip / Drag Racer safety 

- Required vehicle safety 

- Christmas Tree breakdown 

- Starting line explanation 

- Basic timing system explanation  

- Return road procedure 

- Time slip breakdown

 

After the classroom portion (approx. 30 min) the class will be brought to the track and will be able to stage and react by foot to the live Christmas Tree. Following the first tree experience the students will have the opportunity to be the first through tech, which would allow them the first opportunity down the track. The instructor will watch and be available for questions after the first pass. At this point, the class has concluded, and the racers are now participating with other entrants of the Wednesday Night Street Legal event.

Participants in the B.I.G. Performance Solutions Intro to Drag Racing Class will receive a free Trophy Class tech card for The Hoffman Weber Construction BIR Bracket Racing Series. After learning the ins & outs of drag racing and spending an evening practicing come experience and feel the excitement and adrenaline rush of Bracket Racing competition. (Daily Admission Fee not Included and will need to be purchased online or at front gate)

For those not taking the class, Gates open at 4pm, racing starts at 5pm and ends at dusk.
