Brainerd International Raceway (BIR) is excited to kick off the 2026 drift season with the Overdrive Drift events, April 17th-19th. This three-day open drift event is designed to give drivers a no-pressure opportunity to get their cars out of storage, shake off the winter, and prepare for the season ahead. With all testing and track time focused on fun and seat time, this is the perfect way to warm up for a full year of drifting at BIR.

• Course certifications for road course and new drift course for Octane Autofest
Whether you're brand new or a seasoned driver, Overdrive is the perfect way to warm up for a full season at BIR.

Introducing Drift 101 — BIR’s entry-level drift program designed to help new drivers build confidence safely and correctly.
Drift 101 includes:
• Basic car control fundamentals
• Throttle and clutch technique
• Line selection and transitions
• Lead-follow introductory sessions
• Instructor guidance and feedback
This program runs alongside Overdrive Drift Opener and provides a structured environment for drivers who are just getting started. If you've been wanting to try drifting but weren’t sure where to begin — this is your opportunity.
