At least one parent must be present for the duration of the event. Check with the organizing club for minor release forms.

  5. For safety, all participants must refrain from consuming alcohol within 12 hours of driving. Alcohol is not permitted during any portion of the event day until all on-track activities are concluded.

  7. For safety reasons, convertibles are not permitted on track unless equipped with an approved roll-over protection (ROP) system or a certified steel roll cage. BIR reserves the right to inspect and approve all safety equipment before allowing access to the track.

  8. We recommend wearing flat, thin-soled shoes for optimal pedal feel. BIR has a limited number of helmets and driving suits available. Guests are encouraged to bring their own proper safety gear if they have it. If using a BIR-provided helmet, a balaclava is required for hygiene and comfort

  9. Attendance at the mandatory morning safety briefing is required before any driving activity. The briefing provides essential information on track layout, safety protocols, and proper driving etiquette.

  10. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. for same-day arrivals. If you’ve pre-registered, please arrive no later than 9:15 a.m. to allow time for check-in and gear prep. The safety briefing begins promptly at 9:30 a.m.

A safe, successful day on track starts with a properly prepared vehicle. Below are the key areas you’ll want to check before arriving:

Tires

Your tires are your car’s only contact with the track—and they do all the work when it comes to acceleration, braking, and cornering. Make sure your tires:

  • Are in good condition with no exposed cords

  • Have sufficient tread depth to handle both dry and wet conditions

  • Are inflated to manufacturer-recommended levels before your arrival

Brakes

Braking performance is critical at any track day. Before your event, confirm the following:

  • Brake pads should have at least 50% life remaining

  • Rotors should be in good condition with no warping or deep grooves

  • Brake fluid should be fresh and topped off (ideally replaced within the last 6–12 months)

If in doubt, have your preferred shop perform a quick inspection.

Fluids

High-performance driving puts extra heat and stress on your engine. Check that all fluids are:

  • Fresh and at proper levels, including engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, and power steering fluid

  • Free from leaks or contamination

Suspension

A stable, well-functioning suspension ensures your car handles predictably at speed. Before the event:

  • Inspect for worn ball joints, bushings, or tie rods

  • Check that shocks/struts are not leaking or blown

  • Nothing should be loose, clunking, or out of alignment

A simple test: push or pull each wheel to detect excessive play or noise.

Engine & Battery

You don’t need a race-prepped car, but it should be mechanically sound. Key points:

  • No fluid leaks or mechanical issues

  • Battery must be securely mounted with proper hold-down hardware

(No bungee cords or zip ties—factory or motorsport-grade solutions only)

Interior & Loose Items

Clean out your car before heading to the track:

  • Remove all loose items from the cabin and trunk

  • Take out your driver-side floor mat for safety

  • Bring a plastic bin or storage tote to store personal belongings during your session, especially if there’s a chance of rain

Not Sure Where to Start?

If you’re not comfortable inspecting your vehicle yourself, we strongly recommend visiting a qualified mechanic before the event. A quick once-over from a reputable shop can make all the difference in your day.
