PGI Fireworks Expo
Brainerd International Raceway is excited to announce that they are hosting the Pyrotechnics Guild International (PGI) August 3 – 10, 2024.
The PGI is an organization all about fireworks, and they are going to light up the sky here in Brainerd! This year’s event is called “Here Comes the Boom.” The event offers three nights that are open to the public, tickets are available through BIR. On these evenings there will be multiple pyro musicals, the likes you have never seen before. This week is when these pyrotechnics show off the best of the best with all the new devices and techniques for displaying fireworks and drones. A new development of the past few years is combining drones with pyrotechnic devices. PGI is an event you will not want to miss. Tickets are available for August 4, 7 and 9.
Sunday August 4, 2024 - Opening night will start off with fireworks displayed to the National Anthem by Northern Lighters Pyrotechnics Club, from right here in Minnesota. Followed by 3 pyro musicals, one by Pyroland and two by RKM that will feature pyrotechnic devices and drones. You will also see some of the competition of individual shells as we start this exciting week. You will want to witness PGI kick off their event!
Due to the threat of inclement weather, Wednesday has been MOVED Thursday
Wednesday August 7,2024 – The mid-week show will begin with the National Anthem display followed by a pyro musical presented by our Junior Pyrotechnics Association (JPA), the kids of the organization. Up next with a pyro musical is North Star. The Old Stars will then light up the sky with an old-fashioned hand-fired show with shells all made in Minnesota. The evening's finale will be by Big Sky Pyrotechnics. It will be quite a sight!
Friday August 9, 2024 – The Grand Finale will be an amazing evening. Dominator Fireworks start the evening off with the National anthem. Then the Best of the Best will shoot their shells, most likely made throughout the convention, in the Builders Showcase Display. Mum Pyro will feature a pyro musical showing off all the products made by PGI members during their week long class. It’s a real Made in America event. We are told there are also a few other surprises in store, a 24-inch shell made by a Guinness World Record holder, as well as builders all the way from Malta sharing their Maltese style shells built during their trip to Minnesota. This exciting evening will be capped off with a combination pyrotechnics & drone pyro musical presented by Spirit of 76 and Verge Aero. This will be an evening you do NOT want to miss!!
If you would like to become a member of PGI and participate in the event visit www.PGI.org for more information.
The PGI is extremely excited about the convention being held at Brainerd International Raceway and look forward to lighting up the sky with the best of best in America!!
