Driver Requirements
- All drivers must attend the mandatory driver meeting.
- Drivers must be 18+ or accompanied by a parent/legal guardian.
- Respect track staff and fellow drivers — unsafe behavior may result in ejection.
- Seat must be properly mounted and seat belts fastened
- Battery must be securely mounted with proper tie-downs. Positive terminals must be covered.
- No fluid leaks (oil, fuel, coolant, etc.). Only water-based coolants are allowed.
- Catch cans required for coolant and power steering overflow.
- Brakes, suspension, and steering must be in good working order.
- Brake lights must be functional
- Loose items must be removed from the cabin.
- Hood and trunk must be latched securely.
- Socks on overflow tanks.
- Helmets must be DOT or Snell SA2015+ rated and worn at all times on course.
- Long pants, closed-toe shoes, and sleeved shirts are required.
- Convertibles must have a roll bar consisting of a main hoop and two rear down bars.
All drivers are expected to operate in a safe, predictable, and respectful manner at all times while on track at Brainerd International Raceway. Apex Track Days are non-competitive events focused on driver development, not racing. Smooth inputs, situational awareness, and consistent driving lines are strongly encouraged to maintain a safe environment for all participants.
Drivers must:
Follow all flag signals and track control instructions immediately
Maintain awareness of surrounding traffic and mirrors
Drive within their skill level and comfort zone
Stay on assigned run group sessions
Attend the mandatory drivers meeting before going on track
Aggressive driving, racing, blocking, or reckless behavior will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the event without refund.
Point By (Academy, DE, Reserved)
A clear hand point-by from the lead driver is required before any pass
No surprise or unannounced passing
Passing driver is responsible for completing the pass safely
Designated Passing Zones (Academy)
Passing is only allowed in approved passing zones
These zones will be reviewed during the drivers meeting
No passing in corners unless explicitly stated for advanced groups
(Beginner groups typically allow straightaway passing only.)
